Rob Gronkowski revealed his hilarious strategy to get out of offseason virtual workouts

Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski ended his year-long retirement this offseason to join Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. And now, he’s back in the Super Bowl.

That meant Gronk had put an end to the day-to-day activities of a retired Gronk and return to the world of responsibilities and workouts. But Gronkowski apparently still managed to find a way to get out of the virtual offseason workouts from time to time.

During Monday’s media video conferences ahead of Super Bowl LV, Gronkowski revealed how he got out of running sprints. He told reporters that the Bucs required him to film his workouts and send the tape in. So, instead of running sprints on multiple days, he’d just run in different shirts and send separate videos in to the team.

Honestly, that’s a great idea.

Of course, he was still doing the work — condensed into one day rather than several. But hey, it freed up the rest of his schedule, and it must have worked because Bruce Arians was particularly impressed with Gronk’s work ethic.

Well played.
