Rob Gronkowski loves trolling about coming out of retirement

Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski keeps telling people that he’s not coming out of retirement.

But he’s also telling people that he is coming out of retirement. It’s just that, when he claims to have interest in returning to football, he’s trolling. At least, that’s what he said during an appearance on the red carpet at the Billboard Country Music awards.

“I mess with people,” Gronkowski said. “I say ‘fake retired’ to half the people. I say I’m coming back next week. But yes, I’m actually retired. But I like to mess around, sometimes tell people I’m really not.”

Then he trolled.

“You never know,” Gronkowski said. “You mess around that much about it, I might convince myself. I kind of like it right now. I’m resting, recovering. It’s good.”

Gronk will surely continue to pull at the heartstrings of New England, which added talent at the receiver and tight end positions this offseason. But the Patriots are still in desperate need of more Gronk.
