Rob Brydon is well known as the happy-go-lucky, childlike Uncle Bryn in Gavin and Stacey.
But the truth is the comedian and actor has suffered his fair share of heartbreak, particularly when he divorced his first wife in 2001.
He was married to Martina Fitchie for nine years, and they share three children together - Katie, 27, Amy, 23, and Harry, 25.
The breakdown of his marriage "traumatised" Rob, who did not even write about the sensitive topic in his autobiography.
It wasn't until 16 years later that Rob decided to open up about the painful split in an interview with The Times.
The Would I Lie to You host first met Martina in a pub in Cardiff when he was working at Radio Wales, the same place Martina's sister worked as a producer.
They eventually moved to London as Rob's acting career took off, and Martina worked as a nanny.

"You lose excitement with marriage," Rob admitted, explaining their relationship "just came to an end".
"You can't have everything, though," he added.
The 56-year-old said he felt "derailed" and "lost" by the heartbreak, becoming depressed and seeing his weight plummet.
"I’d been married, with three children, then that goes. All the stage posts in your life, the boundaries that there are, they vanish," he said.
Rob and Martina deliberately played down the split in public to avoid "awkward questions", and eventually the comic learnt to "live with it".
The doting dad was also dedicated to ensuring his children weren't affected by it.

"I'd love to know what could be more traumatic than divorce," he said.
"We both wanted it to happen. We had three children, so of course I looked on it as a bloody failure, but I have friends who’ve been through divorces that make my miraculous hair curl."
Martina has since moved on with a new partner, and she joined Rob and their children in Australia a few years ago when he was performing out there, and the family went dolphin-watching.
Rob has moved on too, finding happiness with his second wife, TV producer Clare Holland, with whom he had two more children - Tom, 13, and George, 10.
He met Clare at the South Bank Awards in 2002, and they got married in 2006 and now reside in South West London together.

"For a man of my age, my kids are young," Rob said when his youngest was two, explaining he never used to want children, but as he got older the feeling slowly developed.
"As they get older and start going off and doing their own thing, I find I'm happiest at big family occasions when everyone is there," he told the Daily Mail.
"Either that or when I've been drinking heavily. I didn't start drinking until my mid-30s, so I get drunk remarkably quickly."
Rob recently spoke out about his Gavin and Stacey character's love life too, revealing he thinks Uncle Bryn is gay.
Confirming what most viewers already believed, Rob said he would be "surprised" if Bryn was straight.
He added that the way Bryn stares at Larry Lamb's character Mick Shipman in the popular sitcom means his sexuality is 'not ambiguous' - even though producers never openly said he was gay.
Speaking on the Table Manners podcast, the dad-of-five said: "There's a part of me that doesn't want to say anything, because I think it should be in the mind of the audience.
"But it's not ambiguous, is it? I mean, I'd be surprised if Bryn wasn't gay. But I wonder if he's just never acted on it?
"They've [the show's producers] never said to me [if he was gay or not] - it's just what's there in the script.
"But, I mean, the way he gazes at Larry Lamb, at Mick, though he's a lovely looking boy..."
Rob said whether his character is gay or not is up to the opinion of the viewers, adding: "I think it's for the audience to decide for themselves."
