Rob Brydon addresses Masked Singer rumours as fans convinced he's Traffic Cone

Rob Brydon admitted he has been asked to take part in ITV's The Masked Singer, while addressing rumours he could be Traffic Cone.

He remained coy on whether he has taken part in the latest series, amid speculation he is under one of the costumes.

The Gavin & Stacey star and comedian appeared on ITV's The John Bishop Show on Saturday night, where he was grilled over the latest series.

It's then that Rob confessed he had been asked to do the show, and added that he'd seen speculation he was in fact Traffic Cone.

Commenting on the claims, he said he couldn't reveal the truth just yet in case it ruined the show.

Host John had asked him: "I mean you must have been asked to do The Masked Singer surely, because you've got a good singing voice."

He said: "Yes," and nodded, before remaining coy.

Rob added: "Every Saturday night people think I'm a traffic cone. I haven't seen this run of it but I assume there is a traffic cone, and obviously I can't say can I, because it would spoil something.

"But yes, I have been asked, yes."

Viewers of the hit guessing series had recently speculated it was Rob behind the mask, with one writing on Twitter: "I swear traffic cone is Rob Brydon."

Another said: "Traffic cone is definitely Rob Brydon," as a third added: "Traffic cone is Rob Brydon."

It comes as some fans believed it was Aled Jones who is posing as Traffic Cone on the ITV show, days after singer Russell Watson claimed to know the name.

From candy to possible album names and living an urban life, clues hinted to him having a role on TV on the weekends.

There was also talk of living a double life, and having an alter-ego.

Piecing it all together, some viewers believed it was very obvious who Traffic Cone was, and took to Twitter with their thoughts.

Many viewers all agreed it was Aled Jones under the mask, who hosted Songs of Praise on Sundays - with fans claiming it sounded just like him.

One fan said: "I think Traffic Cone is definitely Aled Jones 100%," as another wrote: "Aled Jones for traffic cone. He was beaten at Wimbledon by female tennis player that was ranked #4."

A third said: "Traffic Cone - It is 100% Aled Jones, but he's trying to hide it," while another wrote: "Traffic Cone has to be Aled Jones! "

The Masked Singer UK airs Saturdays at 7pm on ITV.
