Roadworks to restrict traffic on Commonwealth Avenue for a month

Roadworks are scheduled for Commonwealth Avenue

Traffic flow on Commonwealth Avenue, south of the lake, will be restricted for a month due to road maintenance works starting next Sunday.

The National Capital Authority said the roadway between the Capital Circle/Parliament Drive intersection and the junction with King Edward Terrace, south of the lake, would be the only section affected.

Traffic flow will be restricted to one lane at various times between the hours of 5pm and 6am from Sunday, November 14, through until Friday, December 17.

The authority said it had scheduled the maintenance overnight to ensure minimal disruption to daytime traffic and it woul dbe "considerate of peak traffic movements".

While set up would begin at 5pm, disruptions would not occur until 8pm on weeknights.

The work had been due to begin on Sunday November 7, but has been delayed by forecast rain.
