Roadworks to fix 'urgent gas leak' to end in January 2022, more than a month after they were due to finish

Roadworks to fix an "urgent gas leak" are expected to finish in January, more than a month after they were originally expected to be completed.

A section of Colwick Road, between Sneinton and Colwick, off the A612 Colwick Road was closed on December 2 due to emergency roadworks after a gas leak.

It was first thought work would likely go on until the end of December 3, which was then extended to December 14.

But work being carried out by Cadent Gas will now not be finished until January 5, with multi-way temporary signals at the Meadow Lane junction with Colwick Road and Sneinton Hermitage in place until then.

No alternative route has been provided, and minor delays are expected for motorists.
