Ayr's busiest road is to close later this month as part of a major maintenance project.
The A77 bypass, a traffic artery between the central belt and the south-west, will shut for five nights while a £418,000 upgrade on the carriageway takes place.
Traffic is set to be rerouted through the town as part of diversions which will cause significant disruption.
The scheme between Holmston roundabout and Overmills takes place from Friday, March 26 until Tuesday, March 30.
From 8pm until 6am on the dates in question, there will be a full weekend closure of the A77 at Whitletts roundabout.

A77 southbound traffic will be diverted via Whitletts roundabout to take the third exit onto the A719 and at King Street roundabout, will take the first exit onto the A79, John Street.
To continue on the A79, traffic will take the third exit at the following roundabout onto Station Road.
Traffic will then join the A70, Holmston Road by taking the first exit at the next roundabout and at Holmston roundabout, traffic will take the third exit to re-join the A77 southbound where diversion will end.
Northbound traffic will follow the same diversion route but in reverse.
A spokesperson for road firm Amey said: "Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance."
Upgrades to the road surface will benefit around 18,000 vehicles using this route each day.
