Roadworks beside Queen Elizabeth University Hospital extended for further week

Roadworks taking place next to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital have been extended by a further week, Glasgow City Council confirmed.

Drainage system repair works were due to finish yesterday (Friday), however, will now continue on to next Friday (October 25), due to 'engineering difficulties'.

Works are being carried out between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day, resulting in Renfrew Road being reduced to one lane.

Glasgow City Council's Traffic Control & Management team (TRAFFCOM) advised: "Due to engineering difficulties, works on Renfrew Road require to be extended. Works are now expected to be completed on Friday 25th October 2019.

"During this time Renfrew Road, between Govan Road and Bogmoor Place westbound, will be reduced to one lane.

"Delays are expected."

The Council had previously stated: "In order to facilitate these works Renfrew Road, will be reduced to one lane, westbound, between Govan Road and Hospital Boulevard.

"These works will commence on Monday 14th October 2019 and are expected to be completed on Friday 18th October 2019, weather permitting.

"Works will be carried out between 09:30 and 15:30 each day."
