Roads to be gritted in Nottinghamshire as temperatures set fall to -4C

Gritters will be treating roads across Nottingham tonight as yellow weather warnings remain in place for the county.

Nottingham City Council is expecting road temperatures to dip below freezing and snowfall is also expected overnight, according to the Met Office.

The latest forecast suggests snow could begin falling by 9pm on Sunday, February 7 for a short period of time, but it is expected to snow throughout Monday, February 8.

Weather warnings for snow and ice are in place until Wednesday, February 10.

On the forecast or the rest of Sunday, a Met Office spokesperson said: "Further showers of sleet and snow are forecast overnight with fresh accumulations.

"Becoming icy on untreated surfaces as a widespread hard frost sets in. Feeling bitterly cold in strong easterly winds, gales on coasts. Minimum temperature -4C."
