Roads shut as man in 60s hit by car in Hyde

A man has been hit by a car on a key road through Hyde.

The pedestrian, in his sixties, is understood to have suffered 'minor' injuries in the incident at around 8.41am on Tuesday morning.

He has been taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The incident between the bus station and the A627 Clark Way caused queues on the A57 Manchester Road after the road was closed in both directions.

A spokesman from the North West Ambulance Service confirmed the incident and said a man was being treated for minor injuries, while Greater Manchester Police said an incident had taken place but could not provide further details.

Residents passing the incident shared their concerns on social media.

One said on Facebook: "It was all backed up near my house from the motorway. So I went the other way and was all acked up there. Must be something serious. Hope they're ok."
