Roads in Monklands will close for essential works over next few weeks

Three Monklands roads will be affected by closures over the next few weeks.

The Greenfoot level crossing on Mollinsburn Road in Glenboig is closing from 10pm on Saturday until 6am the next day.

This is to allow for maintenance work and applies from 100m north-west from its junction with Glenboig New Road.

Drivers are advised to use Gain Road, Gain and Shankburn Road and the B802 Condorrat Road as alternative routes.

Caldercruix Main Street, from Station Road to 320m off its termination, will shut for five days of carriageway resurfacing works from Monday, May 24.

Motorists are warned there will be no diversions available, but pedestrian access “will be maintained where practical”.

And carriageway resurfacing will result in Swinton Crescent, in Coatbridge, closing for five days from June 2.

The work will be carried out from 400m off Dunnachie Drive and there will be no diverted routes on offer to drivers.
