Officers found a magazine containing five bullets at a road junction after searching the area.
Merseyside Police were called to the Knowsley Road area in Bootle at 4.15pm today (May 10) following reports of two men acting suspiciously. Officers carried out a search and recovered a magazine containing five bullets at the junction of Knowsley Road and Hornby Boulevard.
There is no evidence at this stage that a weapon has been fired, or that anyone has been injured or that there was any damage caused. House-to-house and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area.

There are road closures in the local area while enquiries are ongoing. According to traffic news service Inrix, police have closed Knowsley Road in both directions from Stanley Road to Balfour Road.
