Thrifty mum leaves viewers feeling sick after revealing she feeds son roadkill

A mum who feeds her family roadkill to save money left viewers feeling decidedly queasy after revealing she fed her son a pigeon which had been electrocuted.

Laura Ansbro, who is known online as the Millennial Hunter Gatherer, left her marketing job to bring up her son.

However this meant that she and her husband had much less money.

Appearing on This Morning to speak about her unusual way of saving money, she told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that she and her partner had begun picking up animals off the side of the road.

"Over the summer you see animals on the road," she said, revealing her husband used to be a gamekeeper. "He knows whether it was fresh."

She reiterated that the fact that it was fresh was "very important" and that they don't eat anything that was squashed.

Laura also revealed that they had once spotted a pigeon that had been electrocuted by an overhead cable and later picked it up to eat it at home.
