Road tax, red lights and lycra: the cycling ignorance quiz

Earlier this week, my colleague Peter Walker wrote in-depth about the recent backlash against cycling, which has ranged from damaging media representations to tacks being left on the road and wires strung across popular cycle paths.

The piece received thousands of comments, many of them supportive of the article but many repeating the kind of generalisations and stereotypes it set out to challenge. In fact, it featured the kind of generalisations and stereotypes which any regular reader of cycling articles would find wearyingly familiar.

But be weary no longer. Incorporating some of our tireless bike blog community’s responses to the most common tropes, and with tongue firmly in the vicinity of cheek, we’ve put together a cycling ignorance quiz. Do let us know how you do.
