A main road has been closed in south Manchester due to concerns over the welfare of a man on a roof.
Withington Road in Whalley Range has been closed whilst officers deal with the incident.
Police said they were first called over the concerns of the welfare of a man shortly before 6pm today (Friday).

The man is currently on the roof of a building on the road.
Trained negotiators have been dispatched to the scene the Manchester Evening News understands.
Withington Road is currently closed close to the junction with Yarburgh Street.
Both drivers and pedestrians have been urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) tweeted asking people to use Alexandra Road South or Upper Chorlton Road instead.
A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesman said: "Officers were called to Withington Road, Manchester, at about 5.50pm today (July 2) over concerns for the welfare of a man.
"There is a scene ongoing and road closures in place."
