Road shut as man found in middle of street with serious head injuries

A man has been discovered in the street in Bolton with serious head injuries.

Emergency services were called to Thicketford Road at around 5.20pm on Friday evening (July 30).

Upon attending, officers discovered a man, who is believed to be in his 40s, in the street with injuries to his head..

Police said it was not yet clear how the man had sustained the injuries. He has now been taken to hospital.

Thicketford Road has since been closed in both directions, between Ainsworth Lane and Le Gendre Street, with diversions currently remaining in place.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers were called to Thicketford Road, Bolton, at about 5.20pm to reports a man had been found in the street with serious head injuries.

“It is unclear how the man, believed to be in his 40s, received the injuries and he has been taken to hospital, where his condition is unknown.

“There are road closures in place and a scene is in place.”

North West Ambulance Service has been reached for comment.
