A car chase ended in a crash in Blackley.
The collision happened on Rochdale Road near the Texaco petrol station earlier this evening (Thursday).
Police were called to reports of a car chase at around 7.15pm.
A Nissan Terrano then hit street furniture on Rochdale Road, blocking the carriageway.
The driver of the other car made off from the scene, police said.
It's understood to groups of people had been fighting prior to the car chase.
Rochdale Road has now re-opened.
A GMP spokesman said: "At approximately 7.15pm this evening police received reports of two vehicles chasing each other following which one vehicle had collided with some street furniture. This caused the road to be blocked.
"The second vehicle had made off from the scene.
"Officers attended supported by the fire and ambulance service.
"The road has since reopened.
"Police enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the collision."
