A road was sealed off in Fallowfield in the early hours of New Year's Day following a horror smash.
The collision, involving a black Mercedes and white taxi, took place on Yew Tree Road.
Fire engines, Greater Manchester Police and the ambulance service could be seen attending the incident at around 4.45am on Wednesday morning.
Images taken from the scene showed both vehicles badly damaged.

Firefighters appeared to have cut off the roof of the Mercedes.
It is unknown if anybody has been injured at this stage.
The road was sealed off in both directions and police officers could be seen standing guard at the cordon.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 3.34am to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars with people trapped inside.
"Three fire engines from Moss Side, Salford and Withington attended, and the Technical Response Unit from Ashton, attended."
