A road was sealed by police as negotiators rushed to a man on a roof in Knowsley.
Merseyside Police received reports of a man on the roof of a water supply maintenance box on Rupert Road in Huyton at around 3.45pm on Wednesday, August 3. After police arrived at the scene they found the man, sealed off Rupert Road and requested help from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service.
An eyewitness reported seeing a black police van with "negotiators" arriving at the scene to assist officers, after an hour and 15 minutes on the roof police managed to detain the man.

He was taken to hospital to be checked over by police and the road was reopened shortly after.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police : "We responded to reports of a male on a roof of a water supply maintenance box on Rupert Road in Huyton. Patrols attended and the male has now been detained and taken to hospital to be checked over."
