Road rage maniac who threatened and beat driver after nearly causing crash hunted by Scots cops

Cops have launched a hunt after a road rage maniac allegedly threatened and beat up another driver after almost crashing into another car on a Scots road.

The assault allegedly took place at the junction of West Grange Road and Solway Gardens, Monifieth, between 12:15 – 12:30pm on Saturday.

Cops say a black Land Rover Discovery pulled out of Solway Gardens and almost caused a crash with another car.

The driver of the Land Rover then got out of his car, approached the other driver, and allegedly threatened and assaulted him before returning to his car and driving away.

Officers would like to trace a man described as white, in his mid 30s, about 6ft 2 and muscular build, with short dark hair and a trimmed beard, and was wearing a blue hooded top and shorts at the time of the incident.

Police have appealed for information.

In a statement they said: "If you have any information that could assist us, particularly if you drove past and have dashcam footage, please call 101 or speak to any police officer.

"Also, information can be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is incident 1670 of 24th April."
