'Road rage' driver leaves pensioner with life-changing injuries in horrific west London attack

Metropolitan Police are hunting for a “road rage” driver who attacked a pensioner and left him with life-changing injuries in west London.

The 79-year-old victim was driving along Staines Road in Feltham at around 4pm on February 16, when his vehicle was blocked by another.

A suspect, described as a white man aged in his 30s with light brown hair and a beard, blocked his route, the Met said on Tuesday.

An argument broke out and the pensioner was assaulted, said police, leaving him with life-changing injuries.

The attack was witnessed by two elderly women who rushed to the victim’s aid, who police also wish to speak to.

Met Detective Constable Rory Atkins said: “We have exhausted all relevant enquiries and we are yet to identify a suspect.

“We have been made aware that two elderly women witnessed the attack, the two women also came to the aid of the victim after he had been assaulted.

“We are keen to hear from these two women and hope that speaking to you will help us find the person responsible.

“We believe the suspect was driving a light blue car at the time of the attack.”

A probe was launched into the February 16 incident after police were alerted on April 2.
