Road next to Bristol hospital to close for 10 weeks

A road near Bristol Royal Infirmary is set to close for 10 weeks from next week.

Signs have appeared on Horfield Road, which is where the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre is based, informing road users of the planned closure.

They say that the road will close for approximately 10 weeks from Monday (March 9).

It is currently unclear if all, or just part of Horfield Road, will be shut off to motorists throughout the closure.

Bristol City Council has been contacted for more details about why the road is closed.

The closure will begin just days after Gipsy Patch Lane in the north of the city has been closed for eight months while work takes place to demolish and replace the existing railway bridge.

Earlier this week Highways England announced it was uncertain when the M32 slip road would reopen after it was damaged by a fire.

The northbound exit slip road off the M32 at junction 2 for Eastville has been closed since February 24 when a storage area underneath the slip road caught alight.
