Road near Bristol Airport blocked in both directions by fallen tree amid Storm Dennis

A country road near Bristol Airport has been blocked by a fallen tree.

Brockley Combe Road, which connects North Somerset village Brockley with Downside on the outskirts of the airport, will be 'closed for the next couple of hours' after the tree was felled earlier this afternoon (February 15).

The road is closed in both directions and traffic is moving slowly after the incident, which was caused by high wind speeds amid Storm Dennis.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: "Brockley Combe Road in both directions closed, slow traffic due to fallen tree between A370 Main Road and Paintball Matrix.

The road leads to Bristol Airport from North Somerset village Brockley (James Beck)

"The road is looking to remain closed for the next few hours."

A picture of the fallen tree was shared on the North Somerset Travel and Roads Facebook page along with information about the road closure.

The post reads: "Brockley Combe Road is closed due to a tree blocking the road, pic below from our Area Officer- Police on site and tree surgeons on their way - the road will be closed for the next couple of hours."

People attempting to drive to Bristol Airport are being advised to take a different route.
