Road in Nottingham shut by police after vehicle crashes into level crossing barrier

Police temporarily closed a road after a vehicle crashed into a level crossing barrier in Nottingham.

The crash happened at around 9.50am on Tuesday March 30 and involved a vehicle and the Bulwell Forest crossing barrier.

Police also released a picture from the scene and said the road was closed in both directions at St Albans Road for around two hours.

British Transport Police tweeted: "Due to an RTC between a vehicle and crossing barrier, Bulwell Forest crossing is currently closed at St Albans Road in both directions."

The force later added at 12 noon that the incident had been resolved and the crossing had reopened.
