Road in Arnold closed as wastewater pipe floods street

Part of a road in Arnold has been closed off after as a blockage caused a wastewater pipe to flood the street.

Urgent work to remove a brick from the water line in Church Drive has been underway since 8.50am today (Wednesday, November 24).

It has forced the partial closure of one of its lanes between its junctions with A60 Mansfield Road and Church Crescent.

Severn Trent Water is currently at the scene carrying out works. It is unknown when the issue will be fixed.

Nottinghamshire Live has been told the flooding could lead to the closure of both lanes in the near future.

In a bulletin describing the nature of the work, Nottinghamshire County Council said: "Urgent excavation to remove a brick from the wastewater line that is causing flooding."
