Road had to be closed as fire service rescued injured man from flat using aerial ladder

A main road through Stapleford was closed off by emergency a services on Monday night while a man was lifted from a first floor flat.

Pasture Road was closed in both directions from the junction of Pasture Road and Hickings Lane to Kennedy Drive until around 11.30pm.

The road was closed while Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue helped rescue a male from a first floor flat.

The man had an injury to his spine.

The fire service said: "While paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service treated the male, our team assisted the aerial ladder platform crew from London Road Fire Station.

"Seen in the photo, the aerial ladder platform crew carefully lifted the man from a flat roof, down to the ground, where he was transported by an ambulance to hospital."

Nottinghamshire Police were also called to the scene to assist with closing off the road.
