Road cordoned off following house fire in Nottingham which spread to roof

A road was taped off by the emergency services in the early hours of Saturday, August 8, following a house fire.

Numerous fire engines were accompanied by the incident response unit, police and paramedics to Reydon Drive as the fire spread to the roof of a house.

The emergency services were first called at around 3am on Saturday, August 8.

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We attended a property fire in Reydon Drive.

"The time of call was 0300 hours. All persons were accounted for and there were no injuries.

"Appliances from Stockhill, Arnold, London Road and Highfields attended alongside the incident response."

Fire service crew manager Vince Square, who is at the scene of the cordon, told Nottinghamshire Live: "We had 5 appliances in attendance last night.

"We are currently investigating the incident."

Nottinghamshire Police taped off the road into the morning while the incident was brought under control.

The fire service said the blaze had spread to the roof of the property.

Sgt Iain Blackstock said; "It was reported to us at 3.13am.

"We assisted with the closure of the road."

The road remains closed.
