Road closures in Shotts and Allanton will impact upon journey times

Drivers in the Shotts and Allanton areas should prepare for the possibility of extended journey times in the coming weeks as a number of road closures have been scheduled.

From midnight this Sunday, May 23, Tulloch Road in Shotts will be closed from its junction with Springhill Road northwards for a distance of 30 metres, to all vehicles. This is to allow for utility connection works to be carried out.

Vehicles on the north side of the closure wishing access to the south side of the closure should travel via Tulloch Road, Melford Avenue and B7010 Springhill Road to the south side of the closure. Vehicles on the south side of the closure requiring access to the north side of the closure should travel vice versa.

The road is scheduled to reopen at midnight on Friday, May 28. The closure is associated with works currently being undertaken during the ongoing temporary closure of the B7010 Springhill Road, both closures will run concurrently.

Hillhouseridge Road. Shottskirk Road and Bon Accord Crescent, also all in Shotts, will be closed from midnight the following Sunday, May 30 until the same time on Friday, June 4. This is to allow resurfacing of the carriageways.

Vehicles on the west side of the closure wishing access to the east side of the closure should proceed via Shottskirk

Road, Station Road, Dyfrig Street and Bon Accord Crescent. Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing access to the west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.

And resurfacing work is also being carried out at Daviesdykes Road in Allanton, resulting in its closure from its junctions at Dura Road to Mill Road. The closure will be in place from midnight on Sunday, May 30, with the road scheduled to reopen by midnight on Friday, June 4.

Vehicles on the east side of the closure on Dura Road wishing access to the west side of the closure on Daviesdykes

Road should travel via Dura Road, A71 Allanton Road, Coltness Avenue, Mill Road and Daviesdykes Road.

Vehicles on the west side of the closure on Daviesdykes Road wishing access to Dura Road to the east side of the closure should proceed vice versa.

In the case of all of the closures vehicles and pedestrian requiring access will be permitted where practical.
