Road closures at M8 in West Lothian will affect traffic for a week later this month

Drivers using the M8 in West Lothian are being urged to take note of a week-long programme of road closures which could affect their journey.

West Lothian Council have announced that the junction four slip roads on Scotland's busiest motorway at Whitburn will shut from Monday, 20 May. The A801 roundabout will also be off-limits

The closures are being introduced to allow bridge maintenance works in the area – with the measures in place between 8pm and 6am each day until Sunday 26 May.

Diversions for M8 traffic will be via junction four A, B7066, A706, and A801 for motorists heading north and the A705 for those heading south.

Drivers heading from the A801 to the M8 are being diverted by the A705 (for those heading from the south) along with the A706, B7066 and M8 junction four A.
