Road closure set to affect those going to Rod Stewart Ashton Gate gig

A route closure has been announced that could affect those travelling from Wales to Rod Stewart's Ashton Gate gig.

Highways England has confirmed the Prince of Wales Bridge (M4) will be closed in both directions between 10pm tonight (May 22) and 6am tomorrow, for toll removal works. The diversion will be the M48 Severn Bridge.

Other road closures set to affect concert-goers are Ashton Road, from 1pm to 2am, and Winterstoke Road, from 9pm to 12am.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix has warned drivers to expect extra traffic on Brunel Way and Clift House Road.

The Travel West Twitter account posted: "20,000 attendees are expected so please allow extra time for your journey and check our page for travel information, including shuttle buses."
