Road closure planned for removal of tower crane in Nottingham city centre

A road in Nottingham city centre will be closed over the weekend to allow for the removal of a large tower crane.

Talbot Street, from the junction of Wollaton Street to Clarendon Street near Rock City will be closed from Saturday, August 1 in the early morning hours.

The closure is expected to last until work is complete on Sunday, August 2.

There are alternative diversion routes for those travelling into the city.

Route 1: Travel east along Wollaton Street and turn left onto Hanley Street.

Route 2 (to access Clarendon Street): Travel east along Wollaton Street, turn left turn onto Hanley St then right onto Burton St.

Turn left onto South Sherwood Street, right turn onto Shakespeare Street then left turn onto Mansfield Road.

Make a left turn onto Bluecoat Street, right turn onto North Sherwood Street, left turn onto Peel Street and left turn onto Clarendon Street.

The work is being carried out by North Midland Construction and moderate delays in the area are expected.
