Road closure extended as £7m Scottish Water upgrade west of the city faces unexpected delays

Scottish Water has announced a delay for the re-opening of Dyke Road in Yoker due to a £7 million tunnel project in the area.

Since Monday 18 March, the road has been closed from Dumbarton Road to its junction with Craggan Drive and was to re-open on 28 June, but due to unforeseen circumstances will remain closed until the end of August.

The £7 million project in Yoker is to improve the water quality and natural environment of the River Clyde and to tackle flooding issues in the Yoker area of Glasgow and is part of a £250 million investment from Scottish Water.

This investment into the Greater Glasgow area is to enable the area to grow and develop, alleviate sewer flooding and deal with the effects of increased rainfall and climate change.
