
A man has died following a single-vehicle crash at Buchanan on Friday morning.
About 10.35am, multiple emergency services crews were called to John Renshaw Drive, after an Isuzu ute left the road and crashed into a tree between the Hunter Expressway and Weakleys Drive.
The driver and sole occupant, a 61-year-old man, was found trapped in the vehicle before being released a short time later, police said.
Emergency services attempted to revive the man, however he died at the scene.
Hunter Valley Police District officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service also attended.
All lanes have now reopened.
The Hunter Expressway and M1 Pacific Motorway are open in both directions.
