Road closed off by police after motorcyclist suffers serious injuries in crash

A road in Liverpool was cordoned off by police after a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash.

Emergency services were called to St Domingo Road, in Everton , at around 8.45am.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said the rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The person's injuries are not believed to be life threatening. It is understood that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Police officers currently remain at the scene and a large cordon is in place.

Pictures from the scene show three police cars, which are stationed at each side of the cordon, which covers the length of a number of houses.
