Road closed in Radcliffe after crash sends Audi flipping onto its roof

A road has been closed after a car flipped over onto its roof in a crash in Radcliffe.

Ainsworth Road is shut between Turks Road and Houldsworth Street following the incident, which happened around 3.30pm.

Only one vehicle was left at the scene, a black Audi, which appeared to have sustained heavy damage to its front end.

A witness, who saw the damaged car said: "It looked really bad. The car has completely flipped and it's wheel has fallen off.

"I really hope everyone involved was alright."

A spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed that paramedics treated a man but that he had not sustained serious trauma in the incident.

She said: "There was one patient. He was out of the car when we got there.

"He did not suffer major trauma."

Transport for Greater Manchester has confirmed that the road remains closed, with a diversion sending drivers via Radcliffe Moor Road.

The MEN has approached Greater Manchester Police for more information.
