Road was closed in both directions near Brecon after car overturns and lands on roof

A rural road outside a Welsh town was closed for more than two hours after a car flipped and landed on its roof.

The incident happened on the B4520 outside Brecon in Powys at around 7.45am on Monday.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were all called to the scene of the crash.

A section of the road was closed in both directions as emergency services deal with the incident, with traffic being affected between Brecon and Sarnau.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said nobody was trapped inside the overturned car, and that a fire crew from Brecon had been in attendance to make the area safe and help with traffic management.

Police asked drivers to avoid the area if possible, and reopened the road at around 10am.

The driver of the car did not suffer serious injuries, and was taken to hospital by a family member as a precaution, the police confirmed.
