Road closed for almost two hours after two-vehicle crash

An Ayrshire road was closed for almost two hours yesterday after two vehicles were involved with a crash.

The motors collided on the A71 between Newmilns and Galston just before 11am.

Police have said there was no requirement for an ambulance and recovery was arranged for both vehicles.

Officers confirmed the road reopened by 12.25pm.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to attend a road traffic crash involving two vehicles which happened on the A71 between Newmilns and Galston just before 11am on Thursday, October 21.

"There was no requirement for ambulance attendance and recovery was arranged for the vehicles. Roadway clear by 12.25pm."
