A serious crash has taken place in Northumberland involving a motorbike and a stationary car.
The incident took place at around 7.45am on Friday on Green Lane, in Ashington, and emergency services were called to the scene.
The route was closed between Kenilworth Road and Wansbeck Road and was expected to be closed for some time.
Drivers were being urged to avoid the area and diversions were put in place.
At this stage no information about any the extent of the motorcyclist's injuries have been provided.
A spokesperson from Northumbria Police said: "We are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision on Green Lane, Ashington.
"Shortly after 7.45am today we received a report a motorbike had collided with a stationary car.
"Emergency services are currently at the scene and we would ask motorists to avoid the area while we are in attendance.
"Green Lane has been closed between Kenilworth Road and Wansbeck Road and will remain closed for some time – local diversions are in place."
A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 7.41am to a patient injured on Green Lane, in Ashington.
"We dispatched two double-crewed ambulances and a clinical care manager."
