Road closed as police recover woman's body from River Almond

Police have stopped traffic while they remove the body of a woman from a river.

In a statement on social media West Lothian Police said their officers were working to recover the body of a woman from the River Almond.

The body of a woman was found in the river at 8.40am, police said.

One local said that a police helicopter had been flying around the area last night.

The B7015 is closed in both directions near Livingston Village while officers recover the body of the woman. Police said they might have to keep it closed for a while.

The West Lothian Police statement read: "Police Scotland have currently closed the B7015 in both directions to recover the body of a woman found in the River Almond at 8.40am this morning.

"The road is likely to be closed for some time and motorists are asked to avoid the area."
