Road closed as motorbike crashes in motorway subway

A motorcyclist suffered a head injury after crashing in a subway in Skelmersdale.

The man, 19, was taken to hospital after crashing in the M58 pedestrian underpass near Brierfield today (Thursday).

Police, ambulances and an air ambulance were all called to the scene shortly after midday. The road remained closed into the afternoon and, with only that route available for cars, many residents have found themselves unable to leave to pick up children from school or go to work.
