Road closed as cladding falls from building 'in high winds'

A road was closed due to cladding falling from a building in high winds on Friday (February 21).

Clay Pit Lane was closed for a time from around 6.30pm due to cladding falling from a building.

And concert goers on their way to First Direct Arena were warned about their journey.

The disruption, according to traffic management system Inrix, was affecting Clay Pit Lane both ways from A660 Woodhouse Lane to Providence Place.

Slow traffic is in evidence on Clay Pit Lane (AA)

Police were there to help with traffic control.

The closure caused traffic issues in the area: "Customers attending tonight's The Script performance, please be advised that police have closed Clay Pit lane due to high winds affecting surrounding buildings."
