A road was closed by emergency services as a blaze ripped through a row of houses.
Emergency services rushed to Moorhey Road in Maghull at around 2.11pm on Tuesday, following reports of a house fire. Once four fire engines and an aerial appliance arrived at the scene just four minutes later, firefighters found two houses alight.
Crews found a garden shed fire had spread to the garage of a two storey home and the roof space of a neighbouring two storey property. Firefighters began to rapidly tackle the fire with a hose reel jet to prevent the fire spreading to a third adjoining semi-detached home.

Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets and one main branch hose to fight the fire. Gas and electrics have been isolated to the three houses involved.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fire crews have been called to a house fire involving three houses in Moorhey Road, Maghull this afternoon. Four fire engines and an aerial appliance are in attendance.
"Crews were alerted at 2.11pm and on scene at 2.15pm. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus began to rapidly tackle the fire with a hose reel jet to prevent further escalation."
Eye witnesses reported a police cordon was in place on Moorhey Road while emergency services dealt with the incident. Traffic is unable to enter Moorhey Road from Northway.
