A major road is closed in both directions after a motorbike and car crash.
Merseyside Police were called to East Prescot Road near the junction of Ackers Halle Avenue at 6.49pm on Thursday, January 12, following reports of a crash. Once at the scene officers found a motorbike and a car had crashed on the road.
Police requested assistance from the North West Ambulance Service and put a cordon in place on the road. Cars are unable to access East Prescot Road between Pilch Lane and Finch Lane.

The rider of the motorbike was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital with injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Arriva North West tweeted to warn users of possible delays and a diversion following the incident.
The tweet read: "Services diverted road closed due to police incident services 7/8/10/10a/10b from Liverpool city centre will use Pilch Lane, Dovecote Avenue omitting part of East Prescot Road by greyhound roundabout."
