A man has been taken to hospital after a serious collision between a bus and van.
Emergency services were called to Rupert Road in Huyton at around 2.30pm this afternoon.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said the driver of the bus was being treated by ambulance services for a possible back injury.
Ambulance services confirmed that a casualty was taken to Whiston Hospital.

A spokesperson for Northwest Ambulance Service said: "A casualty has been taken to Whiston Hospital and two ambulances and two rapid response vehicles are still at the scene."
Firefighters were also called and described the incident as a “two vehicle RTC between a van and bus”.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue said: "Merseyside Fire and Rescue were alerted at 2.41pm and arrived on scene at 2.48pm to a two vehicle RTC between a van and bus.

"No persons were trapped. We are assessing the scene to make sure it is safe and standing by to assist."
Police said the model of the van was a white Volkswagen Crafter and both drivers stopped at the scene.
Officers are advising people to avoid the area as Rupert Road and Kingsway in Huyton are closed as emergency services deal with the incident over the next two hours.
A spokesperson said: “Motorists are advised that Rupert Road and Kingsway in Huyton are closed this afternoon (4pm) due to an RTC involving a van and a bus.
“Please avoid the area while emergency services deal with the incident over the next two hours.”
