A road was closed in Ashton this afternoon following a serious 'three car' crash.
Oldham Road (A627) in Ashton-under-Lyne was shut with police in attendance.
It is thought the incident happened at around 4.15 pm this afternoon, December 19.
The closure in place is between Cranbrook Street and the A6140 Wellington Road currently.
Pictures from the scene showed a large police presence and an ambulance in attendance.
A witness told the M.E.N that the damage to the vehicles looked 'pretty bad'.
They added: "I can see a red Peugeot that looks like it is missing a wheel. The front of the car is completely smashed up.
"Further down there is a BMW and a Mercedes that are next to each other outside the car wash.
"Damage wise, it looks pretty bad."
Buses were also being diverted due to the closure, according to Transport for Greater Manchester.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area or to allow extra time for travel.

The nature of the incident is not yet known but Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service have been contacted.
A tweet by Transport for Greater Manchester said: "Due to a serious RTC Oldham Road in Ashton-under-Lyne is closed near the Ikea.
"GMP are in attendance.
"Please check with @FirstManchester as their services will be diverting via Wilshaw Lane.
"Please allow extra journey if heading this way."
According to AA live traffic updates, there remains to be slow traffic due to the incident.
An update read: "Road closed and slow traffic due to accident both ways between Cranbrook Street and A6140 Wellington Road."
