Road closed and air ambulance lands after 'teen hit by bus'

A road was closed after a teenage boy was reportedly "hit by a bus" and airlifted to hospital.

Green Lane in Maghull was closed at around 5pm today, Friday, September 2 after reports of a crash involving a teenage boy. Eyewitnesses said an air ambulance had to land at South Meade and transport the teenage boy to hospital.

One person said the teenage boy, believed to be 16, was hit by a bus. Pictures taken by the ECHO at the scene showed the road remained closed at around 10pm.

Police cordoned off the road at both ends with divisions in place. A police forensics team could be seen taking photos with evidence markers clearly noticeable on the road. A bus could also been seen within the police cordon.

Merseyside Police has been approached for more information.
