Road closed after woman hit by Audi

A residential street was closed after a woman was hit by a car.

Emergency services received reports a female pedestrian had been hit by an Audi at 11.25pm.

Eyewitnesses said blue lights lit up the street and a helicopter could be heard above Dragon Lane in Whiston where the accident happened.

The road was closed off while police and paramedics responded to the emergency.

A woman was taken to hospital but it is not believed to have suffered any serious injuries.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We were called at 11.25pm last night, Tuesday 28 th September, to reports of a road traffic collision between a female pedestrian and an Audi car on Dragon Lane in Whiston.

"The pedestrian was taken to hospital to be checked over but is not believed to have suffered any serious injuries.
