Road closed after sudden death of man

Detectives have closed a road following the sudden death of a man in North Somerset.

Avon and Somerset Police was called to reports of concerns for welfare in Claverham, at around 1:15pm today (July 12).

Officers searched a vehicle after arriving on Chestnut Avenue and found the body of a man.

A cordon has now been put in place on the residential street.

A force spokesperson said: "We were called to concerns for welfare at 1:15pm.

"Upon arrival officers discovered the body of a man inside a vehicle.

"The man's death is not thought to be suspicious. Enquires are ongoing."

It is believed the road will remain closed for the rest of today while detectives investigate.
