Road closed after Dublin Bus gets stuck under bridge causing commuter chaos in Chapelizod Hill

A southside road was forced to close this morning after a Dublin Bus managed to get wedged underneath a low hanging bridge

The bus, which was just entering service at the time, crashed into the bridge at Chapelizod Hill road shortly after 8am.

The road was closed for several hours with no access to the area from St Laurence's Road as Gardai put diversions in place.

Dublin Live has contacted Dublin Bus for comment about the incident.

It was the first of two major incidents to take place in Chapelizod during the busy commuter period this morning.

Nearby, Gardai attended a two car collision on the N4 inbound at the bypass and were forced to close lanes as they waited for recovery.
