Road closed after cyclist seriously injured in crash with wall

A cyclist has been rushed to hospital with serious injures after he crashed into a wall on the edge of Bristol.

Emergency crews raced to the scene following the collision on Rownham Hill, near Leigh Woods, which happened around 4.10pm on April 19.

The man was taken to Southmead Hospital where he's now being cared for.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or motorists with dashcam to come forward.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "The cyclist, a man in his 20s, is currently being treated at Southmead Hospital.

"Road closures are currently in place while emergency services respond.

"We’re now keen for anyone who saw what happened, or who may have dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident, to get in touch.
"If you can help, please phone 101 and tell the call handler you are phoning in relation to log 658 of today (19 April)."
